About University of Kashmir, Srinagar

The University of Jammu and Kashmir was founded in the year 1948. In the year 1969 it was bifurcated into two full-fledged Universities: University of Kashmir at Srinagar and University of Jammu at Jammu. The University of Kashmir is situated at Hazratbal in Srinagar. It is flanked by the world famous Dal Lake on its eastern side and Nigeen Lake on the western side. The Main Campus of the University spread over 247 acres.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

• For Non-Engineering Disciplines:

  • A Master’s degree in the relevant subject/discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade.

  • Qualification in NET/SET/SLET or possession of a Ph.D.

• For Engineering Disciplines:

  • Essential:

    • B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech in the relevant field or allied branches with a first-class in either degree, OR

    • B.Tech with a direct Ph.D. through GATE.

  • Desirable:

    • Ph.D. in the relevant field.
