The University of Hyderabad is a public research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Established in 1974, the primarily residential campus hosts over 5,000 students and 400 faculty members across various disciplines. The governor of Telangana serves as the ex-officio chief rector of the university, while the President of India acts as the visitor. The university was founded in line with the Six-Point Formula of 1973.

Its first vice-chancellor was organic chemist Gurbaksh Singh from Banaras Hindu University, serving from 1974 to 1979, and Shri B D Jatti was the first chancellor. In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad was honored with the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, presented by the President of India.

• Candidates should first click the provided link to complete the registration process and confirm their registration via the link sent to their registered email ID.

• Once registration is confirmed, candidates must log in to the application portal with their credentials, fill in all required information such as educational qualifications, experience, academic/research details, and submit the form online.

• The supporting documents attached to the printed copy of the application should be sequentially numbered (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc.), with page numbers referenced at the corresponding entry in the application form.

• Submission of a printed copy of the application along with all relevant enclosures is mandatory. Qualification:

A.

• A distinguished scholar with a Ph.D. in the relevant/related discipline and significant publications, actively engaged in research. The candidate must have at least TEN research publications in UGC CARE-listed journals and a total research score of 120, as outlined in Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations 2018.

• At least ten years of teaching experience at the university/college level as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor or equivalent research experience at a university or national-level institution, with proof of successfully guiding doctoral students.

                                                                                           OR

B.

• An exceptional professional with a Ph.D. in the relevant/related/applied discipline from an academic institution (other than those covered under A) or from the industry, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge base in their field, supported by documentation, with at least ten years of experience.

                                                                    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

• A strong academic background with a Ph.D. in the relevant/related/allied discipline.

• A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point-scale, where applicable).

• At least eight years of teaching and/or research experience at a level equivalent to an Assistant Professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution/industry. The candidate should have a minimum of seven research publications in journals listed in the UGC CARE list and a cumulative research score of 75, as outlined in Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations 2018.

                                                                       ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point-scale, wherever applicable) in a relevant/related/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or an equivalent test accredited by the UGC such as SET. Alternatively, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016, and subsequent amendments, are exempt from NET/SET requirements:

• Candidates registered for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, are exempt from NET/SET, provided they meet the following conditions:

• The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode.

• The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.

• An open viva voce was conducted.

• The candidate has published at least two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.

• The candidate has presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work at conferences/seminars funded or supported by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or equivalent agencies.

NOTE:

• These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the awarding university.

• NET/SET is not required for Master’s programs in disciplines where such tests are not conducted by UGC/CSIR or equivalent bodies.

• A Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in global university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), or the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is also acceptable.

Experience:

• The candidate should be completed a UG/PG in the relevant discipline with good academic records.

• The candidate should have excellent communication.

• Candidates should be passionate towards teaching and guiding students.

• The candidate should have good research record.
