About Thiran Codeathon

Sri Eshwar Thiran Codeathon is a dynamic, multi-phase hackathon that concludes with the Grand Finale on February 20, 2025. We invite coders, designers, innovators, and problem-solvers from all fields to participate, tackle real-world challenges, and compete for exciting prizes.

Participants will have the chance to collaborate with peers, gain valuable insights from industry experts, and develop impactful solutions aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity, we ensure a transformative experience for all students joining the Codeathon.

Eligibility/Overview

  • No registration fee is required for idea submission.

  • Only the team leader registers the team with a unique name (institute names are not allowed).

  • Each team must have 4–6 members from the same college/university.

  • Participants can join only one team; teams with overlapping members will be disqualified.

  • All updates and communications will be shared exclusively with the team leader.

  • No changes to team members or the leader are allowed after registration.

  • Submitted ideas must align with the specified themes.

  • Shortlisted teams for the Grand Finale must pay ₹300 per participant (includes meals).

NOTE

  • No, team members or the team leader cannot be changed after registration. Once a team is registered, its composition is final.

  • The idea must be submitted as a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) with a maximum of 7 slides. The PPT template can be downloaded from the website.

  • If your team qualifies for the Grand Finale (Phase III), each participant must pay a registration fee of ₹300, which includes meal coverage during the event.

  • The evaluation will be based on the originality of the idea, its alignment with SDGs, technical complexity, feasibility, and potential for meaningful impact. Additionally, user experience and future development prospects will be taken into account.

Prizes / Rewards

  • Winner:  The best project will be awarded a cash prize of ₹20,000, along with a trophy and certificates.

  • 1st Runner-Up:  The second-best project will receive a cash prize of ₹15,000, along with a trophy and certificates.

  • 2nd Runner-Up:  The third-best project will win a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a trophy and certificate.

Timeline

  • Idea Submission (February 1, 2025) – Deadline for registration and idea submission (online).

  • Prototype Presentation (February 8, 2025) – Prototype presentation and evaluation conducted via Google Meet.

  • Final Hackathon (February 20, 2025) – Grand Finale (offline) for the top 25 teams.

  • Prize Distribution (February 20, 2025) – Prize distribution ceremony.
