Loyola Institute of Technology is a Christian Minority institution for higher technical education, established by Rev. Fr. J.E. Arulraj. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai.

The college is promoted and managed by the Sisters of the Society of DMI, founded in 1984 by Rev. Dr. Fr. J.E. Arulraj. The society oversees various educational, technical, healthcare, welfare, and social development institutions.
