About KNU, Asansol

Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) was established under the West Bengal Act XIX of 2012, with the Governor's assent published in the Kolkata Gazette Extraordinary on August 16, 2012. The university is named in honor of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the renowned rebel poet of India and national poet of Bangladesh, who passed away in Dhaka on August 29, 1976.

KNU was founded with a vision to operate as an efficient center of higher learning, fostering instruction, teaching, training, and research across diverse disciplines. Its mission is to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge while extending higher education to address the evolving needs of society. The university is dedicated to nurturing intellectual growth and contributing to societal development through quality education and innovation.

• In accordance with AICTE regulations for Diploma Engineering courses.

• B.Tech in Mining, Mechanical, or Mining Machinery is required.

• M.Tech in the relevant, applied, or concerned discipline is preferred.

• Specialization in Mining Machinery is desirable.
