About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, was founded on October 2, 1972, by the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature as the first Technological University in India. For over 44 years, it has been a leader in delivering quality technological education in the state. After 36 years of operation, the university was reorganized into four separate institutions by the government through Government Ordinance No. 13, dated August 18, 2008, and State Legislature Act No. 30, dated September 2008. The newly restructured institution is now known as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). JNTUH is located on a vast 89-acre campus in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The university includes four Constituent Engineering Colleges: one in Hyderabad, one in Kondagattu (Jagityal), one in Manthani, and one in Sultanpur (Medak district), along with 15 additional constituent units on the Hyderabad campus. JNTUH offers a wide range of academic programs, including B.Tech. degrees in 24 disciplines, B.Pharm at the undergraduate level, a 5-year integrated dual degree Master's program, M.Tech. degrees in 68 disciplines, M.Pharm. degrees in 11 disciplines, M.Sc. degrees in 10 disciplines, as well as MCA, MBA, and Double Degree programs at the postgraduate level. Additionally, the university offers M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. research programs across various fields including Engineering, Technology, Science, Management, and Humanities. JNTUH also has 423 affiliated colleges across Telangana and serves over 3.5 lakh students. The university has established Memoranda of Understanding with numerous national and international organizations.

Selection Committee Guidelines

Please be informed that the Selection Committee for the position of Assistant Professor will consist of the following individuals.

Chairperson of the Governing Body or their nominee (from among the Governing Body members), who will serve as the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.
Principal of the College.
Head of the Department or Teacher-in-charge of the relevant subject at the college.
Two nominees of the Vice-Chancellor of the affiliating University, with one being a subject-expert (nominated by the University).
Two subject-experts not associated with the college, nominated by the Chairperson of the College Governing Body (the College must provide two subject-experts from a panel of five names, not lower than the Professor rank, subject to ratification).
An academician representing SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women/Differently-abled categories, if any candidate from these categories is applying (the College must arrange this if a candidate from these categories attends the interview).

Note

The College must submit the following documents to the Vice Chancellor's nominees at the time of the interview. Failure to submit any required document will result in the interview being canceled.

Most recent copy of the Governing Body minutes.
An undertaking letter regarding the authenticity of faculty certificates, verified by the College's internal Committee members.
Nomination letter from the Chairperson of the Governing Body; if the Chairperson is absent, the nominee must be a member of the Governing Body. The interview cannot proceed if the nominee is not a member.
Nomination letter from the Chairperson of the Governing Body in the absence of the Principal of the College.
Nomination letter from the Principal in the absence of the Head of the Department.
SCM copies of two subject experts participating in the interview.
