The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) operates as a key entity under the Department of Space (DoS) within the Government of India. India's official space agency (ISRO) was established in 1969 as a successor to the Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR). Headquartered in Bengaluru, ISRO operates several key centers, including the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), and the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC).
Founded in 1972 by the Government of India, the Department of Space (DoS) focuses on advancing and utilizing space science and technology. The DoS oversees its programs through various institutions, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC), and the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL). The department is led by a secretary who also serves as the head of ISRO and operates directly under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre
The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), a key center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is dedicated to the design, development, and realization of liquid propulsion systems for ISRO's launch vehicles and spacecraft.
LPSC's responsibilities include creating advanced propulsion stages for launch vehicles and spacecraft, as well as developing liquid propulsion stages, fluid control valves, transducers, and propellant management systems.

Eligibility
Internship opportunities will be offered to UG, PG, and PhD students who are Indian citizens and are enrolled in a recognized university or institution, either in India or abroad.
In the disciplines of science/technology or have completed within six months of the application.
The duration of the internship work will be a maximum period of 45 days.
The student should possess an aggregate of a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.

U R Rao Satellite Centre
The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) serves as the primary center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the design, development, assembly, and integration of communication, navigation, remote sensing, scientific, and small satellite missions.
URSC's specialized teams of scientists, engineers, and technicians have successfully developed over 90 sophisticated and advanced satellites for diverse applications, including telecommunications, television broadcasting, VSAT services, telemedicine, tele-education, navigation, weather forecasting, disaster warning, search and rescue operations, earth observation, natural resource management, and scientific research.

Space Applications Centre
The Space Applications Centre (SAC), located in Ahmedabad, is a prominent research and development hub of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Spread across two campuses, SAC engages in a wide range of multidisciplinary activities and plays a pivotal role in fulfilling ISRO's vision and mission.
The center specializes in developing spaceborne and airborne instruments and payloads, focusing on applications that contribute to national development and societal benefits. These applications span various domains, primarily addressing the country's communication, navigation, and remote sensing requirements. Additionally, SAC makes significant contributions to ISRO's scientific and planetary missions, such as Chandrayaan-1 and the Mars Orbiter Mission.

North Eastern Space Applications Centre
The North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) is a collaborative initiative of the Department of Space (DoS) and the North Eastern Council (NEC), registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 1983. For over 20 years, the center has been serving the eight states of the North Eastern Region (NER) of India, leveraging space science and technology to support regional development.
The primary objectives of the Centre are to establish a remote sensing and GIS-aided natural resource information system to support natural resource management and infrastructure planning, provide satellite communication services for education, healthcare, disaster management, and developmental communication, conduct research in space and atmospheric sciences while creating an instrumentation hub and networking with academic institutions in the North Eastern Region (NER), offer a single-window delivery of space-based disaster management support, and develop regional infrastructure for capacity building in geospatial technology.

Master Control Facility
The Master Control Facility (MCF), located in Hassan, Karnataka, and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, oversees the monitoring and control of all ISRO's Geostationary/Geosynchronous satellites, including the INSAT, GSAT, EOS, CMS, and IRNSS series. MCF provides extensive radio visibility coverage, spanning from the Persian Gulf in the West to Australia in the East, covering a geo-arc of 150 degrees, making it an ideal control center for the South Asian region. MCF specializes in the operations of India's Geosynchronous Space assets, including communication, navigation, and meteorological payloads, ensuring these satellites are monitored, operated, and maintained in their designated orbits.

Indian Institute Of Remote Sensing
The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is a constituent unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), under the Department of Space, Government of India. Established in 1966, IIRS has been a key player in training and capacity building in geospatial technology and its applications across Southeast Asia. The institute offers training, education, and research programs tailored to the needs of professionals, fresh graduates, researchers, academics, and decision-makers. IIRS is also a highly regarded institution for conducting specialized courses for officers from Central and State Government ministries and stakeholder departments to enhance the effective use of Earth Observation (EO) data. Additionally, IIRS is empaneled under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, providing short-term regular and special courses to international participants from ITEC member countries since 2001. The institute also offers an M.Tech. course in 'Remote Sensing & GIS' in collaboration with Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, which is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

National Remote Sensing Centre
The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), a key center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space (DoS), is responsible for establishing ground stations for satellite data reception, generating data products, and disseminating them to users. It focuses on developing remote sensing applications, including disaster management support, geospatial services for good governance, and capacity building for professionals, faculty, and students. Operating through multiple campuses, NRSC caters to both national and regional remote sensing data and application needs across the country.

National Atmospheric Research Laboratory
NARL is an autonomous research laboratory fully funded by the Department of Space, Government of India and involved in carrying out fundamental and applied research in Atmospheric and Space Sciences. It had its humble beginning in 1992 as the National Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere Radar Facility (NMRF). Over the years several complementary techniques such as Rayleigh/Mie lidars, wind profilers have been added. NARL is administered by a Governing Council with Secretary, DOS as the Chairman and Director, NARL as member secretary. The Governing Council sets broad policy guidelines for NARL. A Scientific Advisory Committee consisting of eminent scientists in the field of atmospheric science, monitors the research activities and progress of NARL and provides future directions.

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) is the lead Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space (DOS), Government of India. The Centre is named in fond memory of Dr Vikram A Sarabhai, the great visionary and the father of Indian Space Programme. VSSC pioneers in rocket research and launch vehicle projects of ISRO. The Centre also pursues research and development activities in associated areas like propellants, solid propulsion technology, aerodynamics, aero structural and aero thermal fields, avionics, polymers and composites, guidance, control & simulation, computer and information, mechanical engineering, aerospace mechanisms, vehicle integration and testing, space ordnance, chemicals and materials. Systems reliability and quality assurance of all aspects of engineering and operations are studied and evaluated to the levels of perfection required in each field. Programme planning and evaluation, technology transfer and industrial coordination, indigenisation, human resources development, safety and personnel and general administration groups support the Centre for all its activities.

Physical Research Laboratory
The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), founded in 1947 by Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, began modestly at his residence, the RETREAT, focusing on research in cosmic rays. It was formally established on November 11, 1947, at M.G. Science College, Ahmedabad, with support from the Karmkshetra Educational Foundation and the Ahmedabad Education Society. Initially concentrating on cosmic rays and upper atmosphere studies, PRL later expanded to include theoretical physics and radio physics with funding from the Atomic Energy Commission. The first Council of Management comprised distinguished members, including Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar (FRS), Dr. K. S. Krishnan (FRS), Dr. Y. G. Naik, Dr. V. A. Sarabhai, and Dr. K. R. Ramanathan.

Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), located in Sriharikota and renowned as India's Spaceport, is a premier center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space (DoS), Government of India. A harmonious blend of technological excellence and natural beauty, the center provides state-of-the-art launch infrastructure for both national and international customers, supporting diverse launch vehicle and satellite missions for remote sensing, communication, navigation, and scientific purposes. Recognized as one of the leading spaceports globally, the center was originally known as the Sriharikota Range (SHAR) and was renamed Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR on September 5, 2002, in honor of Prof. Satish Dhawan, former ISRO Chairman.

ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network
ISTRAC has established Spacecraft Control Centres, TTC Ground Station Networks across the globe, Deep Space Network, Ground Segment for Navigation mission, including one-way ranging stations, two-way CDMA ranging stations and a precise timing facility, Space Science Data Centre among other things. In addition, ISTRAC performs host of other activities including design and development of weather Radars in multiple frequencies, Search and Rescue Operations and hub services for Satellite Communication Networks. ISTRAC also provides TTC support for missions of other space agencies
