About IIT, Mandi

The main campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has been developed with eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure. Spanning a total area of 538 acres, approximately 200 acres consist of flat land, while the rest is mountainous terrain. On September 23, 2012, the main campus became operational, with 108 B.Tech 2nd-year students, the Director, several research scholars, 20 faculty members, staff, and their families relocating there.

Currently, the main campus accommodates all undergraduate students, the Director, and 95% of the faculty members, creating a vibrant community of students, academicians, and staff. Situated in the scenic Kamand Valley, the campus is located in Mandi Tehsil of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, along the banks of the Uhl River, a tributary of the Beas River. Kamand is about 14 kilometers from Mandi town.

Professor:  Pay Level 14A, Cell-1 with a starting basic pay of ₹1,59,100/-
