Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET), Malda, West Bengal, was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the mentorship of the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur. It was founded in honor of Sri A.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhury, who made significant contributions to the region's societal development.

Located in Malda, West Bengal, near the bordering districts of Bihar, Jharkhand, and the Northeastern states, GKCIET aims to develop a multi-layered, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral technical workforce. The institute serves as an international platform for academic and technical competency development. Eligibility Criteria for Teaching Positions:

As per AICTE and UGC guidelines and the approved Recruitment Rules of the Institute

Professor

Essential Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with a first class or equivalent at either the Bachelor's or Master's level in the relevant branch.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry, with at least 3 years at a position equivalent to Associate Professor.

• Must fulfill one of the following research criteria:

  • At least 6 research publications at the Associate Professor level in SCI journals/UGC/AICTE-approved journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D. candidates guided as Supervisor/Co-supervisor.
    OR

  • At least 10 research publications at the Associate Professor level in SCI journals/UGC/AICTE-approved journals till the cutoff date of eligibility.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Total research score of 120 as per Appendix II, Table 2.

• Experience in teaching, research, industry, and/or professional roles in a reputed organization.

• Published work, including research papers, patents filed/obtained, books, and/or technical reports.

• Experience guiding PG/Research students or supervising R&D projects in the industry.

• Leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial, and/or professional activities.

Associate Professor

Essential Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with a first class or equivalent at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels in the relevant branch.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry at the Assistant Professor level, with at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience.

• At least 6 research publications in SCI journals/UGC/AICTE-approved journals.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Total research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2.

• Experience in teaching, research, industry, and/or professional roles in a reputed organization.

• Published work, including research papers, patents filed/obtained, books, and/or technical reports.

• Experience guiding PG/Research students or supervising R&D projects in the industry.

Assistant Professor

Essential Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in a relevant branch, with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in the relevant field.

• Experience in teaching, research, industry, and/or professional roles in a reputed organization.

• Papers presented at conferences and/or published in refereed journals.
