About Central University of Punjab

The Central University of Punjab was established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities through an Act of Parliament (No. 25 of 2009). Over 13 years, the university has made significant progress and received an 'A+' grade in its second NAAC accreditation cycle in 2023. It has consistently ranked in the University category of NIRF, securing 95th, 87th, 84th, 81st, 100th, and 83rd positions in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, respectively.

The university is recognized for having the highest per capita research funding. Its mission is to offer comprehensive instructional and research opportunities across integrated and interdisciplinary fields, foster innovation in teaching, learning, and research, and cultivate new ideas, technologies, and perspectives.

The university aims to produce a motivated workforce attuned to regional, national, and global demands, aligned with the needs of academia, industry, and business. To enhance efficiency, the university has implemented e-governance through the Samarth Project, training staff in 21 administrative modules to reduce response times, promote transparency, and support a participatory governance model.

Salary / Pay Scale ₹

• Professors (Entry pay of Rs. 144200/- in the Academic Pay level 14 as per 7th CPC)

• Associate Professors (Entry pay of Rs. 131400/- in the Academic Pay level 13A as per 7th CPC)

• Assistant Professors (Entry pay of Rs. 57700/- in the Academic Pay level 10 as per 7th CPC)
